I just made some for New River Valley Deals!

Local Deal: Radford Clothing Bank

Did you know that anyone can shop at the Radford Clothing Bank?

The Radford Clothing Bank provides good used clothing in an attractive and inviting atmosphere. Persons in need who reside in the New River Valley may shop for free clothing. Other shoppers pay $6 for a basket of clothes. In its 28th year, it is a mission of 15 area churches operated by a Board of Directors and over 300 volunteers. The Bank is a United Way partner and receives additional support from the participating churches, community organizations, grants and shoppers.

There are some great deals to be found.

From the Radford Clothing Bank website:
We need shoppers!
We depend on paying customers to cover rent & utilities. Check out our surprising collection of special priced clothing, including designer labels and brand new donations!

Shoppers not qualifying for free clothing are welcome to shop and inventory changes daily.  Just walk in, grab a basket and tell them you are here to shop! If you are not sure if you qualify for free clothing check out the information here.

I personally have found some great brand new items at the clothing bank for a fraction of their retail value.  In fact, I just got a pair of new Converse Chucks for $3!

The Radford Clothing Bank is open:
Thursday 10 a.m. - noon,
4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. - noon
Saturday 10 a.m. - noon

They are located at:
2000 West Street
Radford, VA 24141

You can easily find the Clothing Bank by turning into Bisset Park, veering right after the light and following the signs.

Lego Clearance!

For the Lego fanatics in your life, Lego.com has a great running "Sales & Deals" section on their website.

You can find Lego sets and other fun Lego items, such as the above Female Minifigure Magnet set, at deep discounts.  That set retails for $14.99, but is on sale for $3.48.

I have noticed that the bigger Lego sets sell out quickly, so it's a good idea to check back often.

You can often find Lego keychains, like this Toy Story Alien, half price at, $2.48.  I bought these for my son's Lego party last year to use as party favors.   They ended up being cheaper (and healthier) than your typical birthday party goody bag fare.

Stampin' Up! Clearance

Did you know that Stampin' Up! has a clearance rack on their website?  (It's a little tricky to find, I think)

Just click that orange link and it will take you to the clearance.

You can find some deeply discounted products there. I've been a crafter for years and am always looking for a good deal on Stampin' Up! products, so I love this section of their site.  Many of the items are 75% off.

I just grabbed some ribbon for some crafty projects I have in mind.

The catalog price for this beautiful grosgrain ribbon was $8.95, but it is now discounted to $1.99!

There are many other crafty items as well, such as their designer series paper, buttons, chipboard and  fun Stampin' Up! accessories. Stampin' Up! has really expanded beyond just rubber stamps.

You do have to pay shipping, based on the size of your order, so I recommend going in with a friend.

Remember to order through a Stampin' Up! demonstrator online to get the best price.

Let me know what fun products you find!

Do you Recyclebank?

Do you Recyclebank?

I had seen references to Recyclebank on many coupon websites, but didn't check it out until one of my friends posted the link on Facebook.

What is it?
"We’re a group of passionate people who’ve made it our mission to inspire others to take action – small to big – that will have a positive impact on our planet.

We trade the actions you make that have a positive impact on your home by saving energy, community by recycling and the environment by conserving natural resources for points that you can use for rewards you choose. Those rewards come in a variety of flavors: Products, discounts and coupons from the world’s leading brands (think: Kashi, Footlocker, Dunkin Donuts), or you can pay the good deed forward by donating your points to support environmental education in schools.

Through these rewards programs, we not only help our own neighborhoods and cities, but we can see what how collective actions result in one serious collective impact. It’s our world, let’s better it together."
(taken from the Recyclebank website)

Sounds like a win-win to me, as the rewards come in the form of coupons!  Check it out here.

My Kroger Trip 8/19

It's not such a fabulous week at Kroger.  I was happy to score a few deals that will get us through the first week back at school.  I always try to have fun breakfasts and special lunch treats, at least for the first week. Typically, I don't buy pre-made waffles but the above coupon makes too good of a deal to pass up.  (That coupon can be found in the Kellogg's Back to School coupon booklet. I picked one up at Wade's, near the milk)

Here are the deals I got:

Eggo Waffles $1.99 -$1/2 Kellogg’s Eggos frozen product, 5.3 oz +, Red Plum 8/07
Keebler Crackers $1.50 -$0.75/2 Keebler Sandwich Crackers Red Plum Insert 7/24
Nabisco Go Cups $1.00 -$0.75/2 Nabisco Cookies or Crackers Smart Source Insert 8/07
1 Gallon Milk $ 2.89 -$2 off one Gallon of Milk(any brand) WYB (2) Kellogg’s Eggo frozen product 5.3 oz +, Kellogg’s Back to School booklet (found this booklet at Wades near the milk)
M&M's  $2.00 $1/2 M&M’s Brand Chocolate Candies Red Plum Insert 7/24
Suave Deodorant $1.06 -$0.50/1 Suave Deodorant Red Plum Insert 8/14

You never know when you are going to find a clearance item at Kroger.  I found Strawberries for $.79, Campbell's Soup and Oscar Mayer lunchmeat were discounted more than 50%.  Plus, we were headed to the movies so I bought a Regal Gift Card that counted towards fuel points.

All in all, it was a decent trip.  This ad will run for 2 weeks so there is plenty of time to grab these deals.

Paying Less for Fuel at Kroger

Now through September 10, you can earn 4X the fuel points by purchasing gift cards at Kroger.  So, for every $100 you spend, you earn 10c off up to 35 gallons of gas. If you spend $400, you get 40c off up to 35 gallons of gas.

Also, consider which stores you may be purchasing from in the near future and go ahead and grab gift cards for those too.  Kroger sells gift cards for major retailers, restaurants and gas stations.  It's also a great time to buy gift cards for upcoming birthdays and holidays.

Need a Back to School Teacher Gift? Thank you, CVS.

Have you shopped CVS this week?  Make sure you scan your CVS card at the Magic Coupon Machine(pictured above).

Did you know you can scan your card more than once?  Try it!
If you shop in the Radford store, the machine in the back of the store is quicker at printing out coupons.

The machine is currently printing CVS coupons for a FREE Caramello candy bar and FREE CVS bandages.

Also, now through 8/17,  head on over to the CVS MinuteClinic Facebook page, “like” them, then click on the “Special Offers” tab to find a coupon valid for a FREE full-size Moisturizing Body Wash at CVS (Choose from Vanilla, Cherry, Escape, Romance, Fresh, or Tranquil scents).  The coupon will be sent via email and is valid through 8/20.

How fun would it be to put together a First Day of school teacher gift with these 3 items?!

My Walgreens Plan for 8/14-8/20

These are the deals I want to score this week.

Usually items are in stock, sometimes you'll need to get a raincheck.  Their employees are extremely accommodating and friendly(especially at the Dublin store).

Check out at the cosmetics counter, if possible.  That way, you don't back up the line.

You can use a store coupon along with a manufacturer's coupon for big savings at Walgreens!

Click on the "printable" link below to print coupons directly from this site or refer to the Sunday paper coupon inserts(Smart Source, Red Plum or Proctor & Gamble).

Walgreens is a little tricky with "Register Rewards".  There are many tutorials online that explain how to shop Walgreens.  Really, if I can do it, anyone can.  Here's a great tutorial or feel free to leave a comment/email me for pointers.

One hang up some people have with Walgreens, is that, in order to maximize on your savings, you should shop it every week or at least every other as Register Rewards typically expire within two weeks.

Watch for my update with receipt.  What are you getting at Wags this week?

Please practice ethical couponing and don't clear the shelves!

Walgreens this Week

This is my receipt from Walgreens (affectionately known as Wags in the coupon world) from last Thursday.  I saved around 80%.  What did I buy?
1.  4 packs of 2 count dry-erase markers
2.  1 jumbo package Huggies wipes refill
3.  1 bottle Purex laundry detergent
4.  4 Lysol disinfecting wipes
5.  2 Lysol toilet bowl cleaners
6.  1 package of 2 uni-ball pens
7.  4 boxes candy (so I don't have to pay for treats when we go see Winnie the Pooh next week!)

Really, if I can do this, anyone can.
No extreme couponing here.
It is fun to be able to get the things that you need and use on a daily basis at a huge discount.
